Awards:  Eight Scholarships to the Pre-College Summer Art Program and one 4-year BA Degree Scholarship at the Academy of Art University

Who is eligible:  Current Marin County high school students who will be 16 by June 23, 2015.

How to Apply:  Submit the following to the NMWF by April 21, 2015:

  • A Statement of Intent
  • Two Letters of Recommendation (Art Teacher, Supervisor/Employer/Community Volunteer Work)
  • Portfolio, minimum 5 pieces (electronic copy on CD

The Scholarships to the Pre-College Summer Program will consist of the following:

  • Coverage of the number of units for 1 art elective
  • Coverage of registration fees
  • $100 voucher per student toward class material
  • Effective Summer 2015

The 4-year Scholarship:  Out of the eight students who are awarded summer program scholarships and complete this program, one student will receive a 4-year scholarship to attend classes and earn a Bachelor of Arts degree from the AAU.  To qualify for the 4-year scholarship, the student must successfully complete the Pre-College Summer Art Program and must submit the following:

  • Portfolio
  • Letter of Intent
  • Two Letters of Recommendation (Teacher/Counselor/Mentor/Employer)

The Bachelor of Arts Degree Scholarship will consist of the following:

  • Coverage of 132 units (requirement for Bachelor of Arts degree)
  • Student must maintain 3.0 GPA every semester to keep scholarship
  • Effective Fall 2016
